I met Deedra about a year ago when she asked me to do her engagement session. We instantly became friends and later neighbors. She is such a warm sweet person who wouldn’t want to be friends with her! A few months after I did her engagement session she asked me to photograph her wedding! I was thrilled and so nervous. I thought she was crazy to trust a portrait photographer with her wedding images. But she convinced me saying that she had looked through her wedding planners list of photographers and didn’t see anyone she liked better than me. Talk about flattery 🙂 So that is how I got my first wedding gig!
After Deedra hired me I quickly called my friend Liz, fellow AF wife photographer and asked her if she would second shoot for me. She had never photographed a wedding before either. She agreed, we were in this thing together. I knew her work was fabulous and had every confidence that we would be a great team and play off each other’s strengths and WE DID! It was an absolute pleasure working with you Liz and if the AF ever puts us back in the same place I definitely see us working together again! I think we pulled off our first wedding with flying colors. The detail shots (flowers, cake, tables) in this blog post are Liz’s work. Please check out her website Elizabeth Behm Photography for more images of the wedding.
Thank you John and Deedra for taking a chance on us and giving us such a beautiful wedding to photograph as our first! You have set the bar so high. I hope these images are everything you hoped they would be. I am honored you chose me to capture this special day for you! Love you both.
Congratulations to John & Deedra. A beautiful couple inside and out.
